About My Work

My work is Newfoundland.

My wooden quilts are made with rough, Newfoundland grown wood from a local mill that are painted using my Newfoundland inspired colour palette. I believe the rough texture of the wood represents Newfoundland’s duality; how it can be harsh and difficult, and yet, so beautiful at the same time. The colours I use are how I see Newfoundland. They can be as bright and joyful as the rows of houses in St. John's, or they can be solemn and powerful, as the natural environment of Gros Morne.

To me, my work is Newfoundland.

My work is made local.

I truly believe in supporting local working people. Whether that’s through the local mill  that makes the wood for my wooden quilts or the brands I’ve collaborated with (Fogo Island Inn, Mallard Cottage. I’ve also taken on work that improve our communities with traditionally modern design. From the mural in Newfoundland Craft Council to renovating the iconic Gander airport, I feel so proud that my projects celebrate and promote the local culture here.

My work is made for you.
