Collection: Wooden Quilts

When it came time to decide what I wanted to do after high school, I slowly realized I wanted to learn more about textiles and how they’re made, from start-to-finish. I completed a degree in Textile Design from NSCAD University along with a degree in Costume Design at Dalhousie. 

When I was finished, I realized I was interested in the construction process of more than just clothing and textiles, I was also curious about the world of woodworking. I saw a truck for Kiwi Construction pass by and called up the number on the side of the truck. I asked the owner if he would have a cup of coffee with me. I was hired-on and taken in by a group of really amazing people from all over the world, I learned so much and have great memories to look back on. 

I made artwork only for me then, to decorate my own home. I didn’t even realize people would purchase my artwork until a friend of mine, Jess, came by and told me I should be posting online. It's thanks to the overwhelming support of friends and family that I'm able to work full-time as an artist and combine my love for Newfoundland, textiles, and woodworking in my signature wooden quilts.
