Trimscapes

I first started making what I call "Trimscapes" while challenging myself to use rescued materials from renovation sites.

For me, the joy of working with trim is envisioning a purpose for it other than the classic frame we are so accustomed to using it for.  Instead of harsh edges or crisp lines, crown moulding elevates the room by creating soft shapes and rounded corners for the eye to follow.

As in quilt-making, I work to waste as little material as possible. Clean lines and round shapes create an unexpected statement piece. Whether against natural wood or untextured walls, a Trimscape becomes the focal point for any living area.
